In recent years, chrome has become popular with nail techs and nail salons. It offers a uniquely reflective, high-shine, and metallic look. This fun innovation in nail design is not actually a nail polish at all, but rather a glittery powder that’s added on top of a base color. The resulting nail design will have a mirror finish. Perfect for reflecting all that gorgeous fall color!

How to Use Chrome Effects Mirror-Shine Nail Powder

To get the gorgeous mirror-finish that’s unique to this chrome powder, follow these steps:

• Prep nails as you normally would.
• Apply base coat and cure under a UV/ LED lamp.
• Apply a one-step gel color like the 1-Step Black Gel Polish or 1-Step White Gel Polish by Two Guys, then cure under a UV/LED lamp. Try experimenting with both black and white gel colors, as each will cause the chrome finish to come out differently.
• Using an eyeshadow stick, silicone brush, or even your fingertip, pick up a small amount of powder and apply to the nail. Add chrome powder in small amounts as you buff the nail’s surface. Continue buffing until the powder is absorbed into the gel polish and a mirror finish is achieved.
• Apply your top coat and cure under UV / LED lamp for 30 seconds.

Embellish Chrome Nails with Glitter and More

• Add Pixie Crystals to a set of silver chrome nails in a “fade-in” style (with the glitter thicker at the top of the nail, then becoming more sparse towards the tip). This creates an effect almost like snowflakes!
• Use chrome pens to draw designs (autumn leaves, perhaps?) on top of chrome nails.
• Add nail charms on top of chrome or glitter nails.
