PLA (Paris Lash Academy) Demo Event Recap: A Huge Success at Nails Plus!

We’re excited to share that our recent PLA ( Formerly Paris Lash Academy ) Demo Event featuring Shawn “TheNailBender” West was an incredible success!
From the moment doors opened, the energy was electric. In fact, some guests camped out at Nails Plus for over 24 hours just to be first in line to meet TheNailBender — talk about dedication!
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed:

- Exclusive in-store specials
- Raffles and giveaways
- PLA swag and product highlights
Shawn showcased a range of applications including acrylic, builder gel, poly gel, and his signature nail art techniques, giving guests the opportunity to see industry-level skills up close and in person.
The turnout, excitement, and community support behind this experience made this one of our most memorable events yet — and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to support us.
Who is PLA?
Coming to the scene as a self taught lash artist and eyelash care professional in 2008, Michelle Nguyen knew how difficult it could be to truly break into the beauty industry. After running her salon for 6 years in Reno,
Michelle ultimately decided to sell it to focus on PLA - a way to share her vast lashing experience with lash professionals all around the world, helping take their lash business to a higher level.
Today PLA boasts over 50 employees at the PLA headquarters in Reno. Michelle is also proud to own multiple lash manufacturers in Vietnam where she was born and raised on a coffee farm. These manufacturers allow Michelle to give back to her community, providing jobs for over 700 women who would otherwise be working in harsh farming environments.
As a top beauty supply company, the company's mission remains to offer premium lash, nail, and aesthetic products to beauty professionals at an affordable price.
