Nail dipping powder is healthier for your nails than many other nail products, and it’s easier to use—especially if you are doing your nails at home. With nail dipping, there is no sculpting that needs to be done. There are a few steps to follow—which we list below—but after a few run-throughs you’ll be dipping and tapping your way to beautiful nails!

Step-byStep Guide to Using Nail Dipping Powder

So, let’s dive into the nail dipping process. This may look like a lot of steps, but that’s only because we’ve taken care to make every part of the process clear and easy to follow. You’ll be a pro in no time at all! Let’s get started:

  1. First, prepare your nails by using a cuticle remover. Brush the cuticle remover on all ten fingers. Then, going one finger at a time, apply a second coat of cuticle remover followed by a cuticle pusher to gently push back the cuticle. Finish your prep by filing/shaping the nails to create a smooth surface. Cleanse and dry to remove any dust or residue.
  2. Apply liquid bond to all ten nails.
  3. Apply a thin coat of liquid base to the first fingernail, stopping short of the cuticle. Dip in ANC Base Dipping Powder, then tap fingers to get rid of excess powder. Repeat this process on all ten fingers. Using a dusting brush, remove excess powder by lightly dusting nails and around cuticle area.
  4. Apply a thin coat of liquid base to the first fingernail, dip in color powder. Tap fingers to get rid of excess powder. Repeat on all ten fingers. Using a dusting brush, remove excess powder by lightly dusting nails and around the cuticle area. Then, repeat this step.
  5. Again, apply a thin coat of liquid base to the first fingernail. This time, dip in ANC Crystal Clear Dipping Powder. Tap fingers to get rid of excess powder, making sure not to tap in clear powder jar to prevent contamination. Repeat on all ten fingers. Again, use a dusting brush to remove excess powder by lightly dusting nails and around the cuticle area.
  6. Apply a final thin coat of liquid base to each fingernail.
  7. Apply liquid seal & protect to each fingernail.
  8. Use a file to shape edge of nails. Then, use an electric nail file with a sanding band or buffer to completely smooth nails and around the cuticles. Wipe down each fingernail with a lint-free wipe. Then, repeat this step.
  9. Apply a thin layer of liquid top coat. Do this twice.
  10. After two minutes, wash hands with soap and water. Then, use a manicure brush to clean underneath the nails. Dry hands, nourish the nails by applying cuticle oil and then massaging cuticle oil into the skin.
  11. Finally, don’t forget to use a liquid brush saver to clean your brushes between and during applications. This will dissolve any leftover powder on the brush and make the entire process more manageable.

And voila! You now know how to successfully apply nail dipping powder!

Again, this looks like a lot of steps, but the process can actually be enjoyable and even soothing once you get the hang of it! And the end result—gorgeous, healthy nails—is well worth the effort!
